Manuel Miranda Practice (MMP) is a graphic design studio focused on creating visual communication systems for people, cities, spaces, culture, and content.
We design graphic identities, publications, books, posters, websites, exhibitions, social media graphics, conference graphics, apps, exhibitions, signage, wayfinding, and environmental graphics for individuals, institutions, governments, and corporations. We work in a listening-oriented, research-driven, and collaborative manner with a strong strategic, logical, and aesthetic perspective.

In addition to our core team, MMP collaborates with firms, studios, and individuals from other disciplines such as architecture, community engagement, urban planning, and web development to meet the needs of large, multidisciplinary projects.
Principal:
Manuel Miranda is the owner and lead designer of MMP. He has over 15 years of experience working across a wide range of project, client, and media types. He serves as a mayor-appointed commissioner on New York City’s Public Design Commission, the City’s design review agency, and is a senior critic in the MFA program at the Yale School of Art.
Previously, Manuel was Vice President of AIGA New York, where he created design programming for the Museum of Art and Design and developed community-based projects funded by ArtPlace America and NYC Small Business Services. In 2015, he led a team that created the winning proposal for Van Alen Institute’s “National Parks Now”, a competition to imagine new audience engagement strategies at urban parks for the National Park Service. Prior to starting his own studio, he was a design director at 2x4, and a designer at Brand Integration Group at Ogilvy. He earned his MFA in Graphic Design at Yale School of Art, and his BA in literature and linguistics from the Evergreen State College. He was a 2020–21 Coro Leadership New York participant.
